Permanent blurb. See posts below.

Being "ready to write" is often illusionary. One is never "ready to write" in any solid, practical way. You may think you are, then when sitting down to begin, every thought you ever had escapes into the ether [as in: the medium supposed by the ancients to fill the upper regions of space].

I don't know about you, but that is generally what happens to me. However, we shall prevail! There is a lot of space to fill on the Web, so I better get started.

Only Women Bleed

I was very fortunate to be able to attend an Alice Cooper extravaganza (I was going to say concert, but that doesn't come near describing the event) at Casino Rama this past July 2013. What a fantastic show! Highly entertaining. Alice (more formally known as Vincent Damon Furnier from Detroit, Michigan) is still going strong at the current age of 65, backed by a superb group of musicians. I was especially impressed with Oriathi Panagaris on lead guitar. Wow! Just, wow. If you ever get a chance to go to one of his shows, make the effort, even if you think you don't like his music. It is a fun event. The Nurse is just hilarious.

Picture Tour of Scout Valley Orillia

Published September 10 2013

I took Dog for a walkabout at Scout Valley, something I try to do daily, but often fail. Dog, by the way, is Patches, an Australian Cattle Dog, Blue Heeler variety. We usually just call her Dog. She's a sweetheart, always looking to please.

This post is predominately pointed at friends and family on Vancouver Island, to show them what we have available for dog trails. However, it should also be an education for the citizens of Orillia, who totally under-use this treasure. So, without further adieu, here are the photographs.
